i never knew the mvd could be so exciting...

I'm exhausted. Even post my 3.5 hour nap today, I'm still exhausted. It was a busy week last week, with preparations for this worship service I'm helping with (which went pretty well this morning), as well as all of my job responsibilities. Thursday was quite the day as our people got awards from the local community college. It was a family affair for sure, and the excitement about the awards was really great. It was a packed house, and of course we were pretty late as it is hard for our group as a whole to be on time to anything (the result of lots of kids).

So after that long long day, Friday was a trip. The whole group headed for the career fair at the community college. It was fun to wander around and we had a great time with it all. I mean, who can beat free ice cream and watching our people get really excited about their careers? OH I can beat it, I got a free new mexico hot pepper plant.

Now to the title of my post. We have a couple of people who have been trying pretty hard to get identification since they've been with us. That is 7 months without identification. You cannot do anything without ID. This week, they need it to register for classes. So for what feels like the millionth time, it was a trip to the motor vehicle department to wait in line for a long time with the possibility that we might get them IDs. Normally we wait forever, get rejected, deal with the anger issues that come out of not having identification and try to figure out our next approach. Well Friday brought a different outcome. Suddenly we had 2 ids for our people and there was much rejoicing. All of the MVD workers were so taken aback by the excitement of our people, but I thought it was great. We stopped in to 7-11 to get some drinks and one of them said to the cashier, wanna see my id? He was like... um no, but she showed it to him anyway. It was really pretty hysterical.

I led worship this morning and it was great. I'm not back to completely comfortable with it, but it felt right. It was a good thing.
